Been on the rollers today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JGj_By65aw
running a bit rich i the lower rpm range
The best 1293 5 port Swiftune cam/head split Weber car on these rollers is 135hp
We did 145hp and 140Nm

Thats fantastic. What sort of revs are you running to make that power? Would love to see some indepth pictures of the injection system. I'm current debating whether to fit TJ, Lucas or Kungelfischer. Watching your video's is making me want Lucas!!

Max Hp is at 7000rpm, but keeping it all the way to 8300rpm where the ignition is cut.
I would also go for Lucas, parts are available allthouge expensive.

This means a 300°/300° cam? Are there special sources for these Lucas parts?e-type wrote:Max Hp is at 7000rpm, but keeping it all the way to 8300rpm where the ignition is cut.

I know a guy who can supply fully refurbished Lucas metering units and or parts - will dig out his details and post. I own a car with the Weslake 8 port head (dry deck) with the earlier slide throttle set up - the engine needs finishing before I can run it !! I hope it will sound as good as this one does when it finally runs!

The 8 port Mini finaly made it to the track this weekend, but unfortunately it had trouble with the gear change from 2nd to 3th.
So I only have this small clip from Jyllands ringen.

Who can supply parts for the Lucas injection?
I have a unit from the 70 but I miss some parts.

Hi
I read with great interest these new reply's to the original thread. In the last few day I have finished a project engine that I have been working on for the last few years with no particular use in mind, I imagine it could be used for track days and hill climbs but I expect that most likely it will go into a road car for some fun. I made the slide throttle inlet manifold myself melting down an old Landrover TD5 cylinder head for material. I hope to have it running on the dyno in the next few weeks to calibrate the Lucas metering unit fuel cam.
Regards Paul

Very nice, can we have some more photos? Are you sure the fuel lines are good for 120psi?
Good luck driving on the road, they make an SU carburettor look like a military Swiss watch.
Do you have any data for the metering unit? I would be interested to see it.

Hi!
Wow! That's a nice engine you built here!
How did you manage to get the oil filter setup?
