Hi Greg, and welcome on board !
Nice project, the body seems to be sound ? Shame about the modern front panel (holes for spot lights), and the non original colour.. Will you give it a spray before "cooperised" it ?
Alex.

It is the french equivalent of "masters series". It will start in 2011, with FIA 1293cc H4 specs. Those little 850 will be Cooperised!
By the way, it brings lot of new frenchmen on the forum!

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
Hello, what surprise to see french here!
The arches of the orange are: http://www.datch.fr/fr/ms128-extensions ... -3335.html
The Mk1 french challenge (exactly name: Trophée Mini Classic) is a new formule. After in france you can do Maxi1000, but it's for all cars Subordinate 1300cc, and now we have a challenge just for mini pré66. If you would like more information here: http://www.tropheemc.sitew.com/#Le_Trop ... _Classic.A
For Alex, I have to change the floors and the bottom box (bas de caisse).
For the colour, I am not fixed, I have the idea to do the inverse of my inno (the body black, and the roof orange), right tank and 4.5 rivers rims. Or dark green, whith white roof.
P.S.: sorry for my bad english...

One vote for Green!
Warm welcoming from an other french man...
PS1: Alex are you knowing everybody?
PS2: Reverse wheels are NOT cooper s wheels (it is the silliest thing you always and always read in those odd french forums...)

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
I think the current colour is a nice change from all the green/white, red/black/ and blue/white combos that are out there.
Whats size and ofset are the wheels on the orange car?

No Enguerrand, not green and white ... that's ours for good reason !!
But I wouldn't go black/orange, I would rather opt for a more period scheme, Greg,
check Pete's archive pictures in the last MCR mag, or this topic on this very forum :

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
Hmm, saying everybody would be presumptuous, but as I've worked on minis in the past, and I've been to a lot of shows (in fact ALL the shows from 1998 to 2007) I've met a lot of people involved in the mini scene. BUT.. I've never met you Enguerrand ! .Pluto wrote:One vote for Green!

I agreed at 101% Etienne ! Orange and black were not common colours in '66...Etienne B. wrote:No Enguerrand, not green and white ... that's ours for good reason !!

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
no with several cars over the years. in the end they moved on to black and gold Ford Escorts. The one on the pic is as far as I know a MK III Cooper S from 1970 which was used in the German counterpart to the BTCC.
the attached article is from german speaking motorsports newspaper "motorsport aktuell" and a reviw on Christian Schmarje who drove for Wooding for several years. The car pictured in the article was raced in 68.

Re: Morris FIA Race Car
black gets my vote. It suits a mini very well as can be seen in that photo. Its a bugger of a colour in general though, it shows up marks really easy especially if you have it polished alot. My mini is black with a silvery roof i think it looks good. That mk3 with the weslake motor looks great with those cosmic style arches on
