Carpet fitting

Post by Daz1968 »

I am nearing completion on my mk1 deluxe resto and now have newton carpets to fit, anyone have any advice or info on how to trim around the gear lever it's the magic wand type as it's a 1962 car. Any advice on this would be appreciated as I don't really want to do it be trial and error.

I would remove gear lever , fit carpet , then you should be able to find the hole to make a small hole
Then re,fit over gear lever ,to check
I once made a right cock up of the remote hole by not having the side press studs in place first . Luckily newton comercial will sell you a replacement front carpet if you mess up :D
