Here's some shots of a local Mk I S I promised earlier.

While this one is for sale I have not listed it as such as its not mine and i don't know any more than that. I can put anyone interested in touch with the vendor...

Such a tidy little S. Was that sort of carpet standard on Oz versions? While I like it, it looks more like something you would see in an Inno (or older Volkswagen)?

I'm pretty sure its the correct ridged "Axminster" style... Barry is pretty pedantic :) (smiley in case he's looking:).

I'll have a closer look next time we meet up..

You can tell from the quality of that restoration! What a smart looking car that is, great value compared to our Mk1 S's. Lovely job. 8-)

that looks a very nice car ,excuse my ignorance but is that the correct engine colour for a oz mk1s.it looks like healey green engine paint that I am familiar with .

That is correct for all mk1-2 S in Aus

And the carpet is Westminster made from goat hair

Ok, Westminster makes much more sense. When I did a search for "Axminster" carpets the results where more suited for a library or drawing room than in a Mini. :? :lol:
