One of the Mini guys on fb, posted an old article, from the 90ies, it say "only 3 were made"
The article I have from when the BAC was new, say they "planned" to do 30, as it was a 30 jubilee model,
but the reporter could not see that anyone would pay that amount of money.

BAC 30 below that was Bernie Ecclestones and raffled in 2009
Mini BAC M30
This is a truly rare opportunity to win a British icon, a Mini Thirty Special Edition. There are only three of these in existence and this is a head turning show stopper!
This was once owned by Bernie Ecclestone.

Looks like Laurence Llewelyn Bowen was let loose on that, I'm surprised they sold 3 never mind 30!Jack of all trades wrote:It's an '89 BAC M-30 car (or a look alike with all the right stuff attached)Craig wrote:A 1969 Radford in the US ????

that mini is a pretty clean car, engine colour is wrong though. it should be UK engine green, where they have painted it Aussie engine green.mk1 wrote:The Saxon Green unfinished project looks fantastic!

Seems like quite an abrasive guy - I remember the hoo-haa over the 1960 car on 59 plates that he sold recently. Surely no need for comments like 'extremely anal' and 'ask the wife's permission'...Pete wrote:The Bill Bell fanclub strikes again..

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Please refrain from referring to this ebay auction.
I have no wish to see another bout of arguments on here! I'll concede that the seller does himself no favours referring to the 59 register as he does, but I have no say as to what people put in their ebay adds. I do not however want to see any bad blood over these comments drawn out here.
For what it's worth, & if it is right it looks like an excellent project 59.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
The comment about the "anal 59 register" was just a bit of light hearted banter after all the stick over the last advert, hence the smiley face after the comment on the advert, in fairness I think Bill has seen the funny side of it as well.

For that 'no corners cut' price, I'd expect Hydrolastic suspension and a much better detailed engine bay.
Very nice looking car though.

Looking at the engine bay , it's got the mk3 moulded heater pipe , were these ever fitted to mk2s?.

I thought wet suspension was phased out in 68....would dry not be correct for the last of the Coopers?

no, it should be hydolastic.Spitz wrote:I thought wet suspension was phased out in 68....would dry not be correct for the last of the Coopers?
The early clubmans and mk3 S's were still hydrolastic.
