No, not for the sake of the valve collets/retainers themselves.
However, if you're running unleaded fuel (we all are) I've found A+ ones to be MUCH better as the are vastly harder than the old rubbish A valves. This do mean going triple collet.

I'll just add if you are going to the tripple grip collets, the Spring Retainers are different, so be sure to use the right ones.

It's the exhaust that takes the beating, so if the A+ inlets are "big enough" to make good seats, I see no reason to buy new ones.

The a plus inlets are two small 27mm and my head has 29mm valves as it's a 202

I'd buy some Minispares ones then, or find some 295s.

Ok.
I've used these with great success earlier:

However, going that large on the inlet might require a bigger exhaust to balance flow.

I've used these as well previously.

The 202 certainly could use a bigger exhaust valve if perforamance is in your mind.

Thanks I've saved them

Won't I need chamber work? Its been worked on around the valve seats before bigger than my other 202

The valve listed above is about the largest you can fit down a
standard 998/1098 bore without block mods.

I had 1.0625" exhaust valves in one of mine and the block needed machining.
With rebore sizes, you might be lucky!

The valves were machined down 1300 type...

I'll be running a +40 overbore so might be okay but I'll purchase them when I get paid

Will a 202 on standard cambers

take inlet - 30.93mm and exhaust - 26.5mm valves?
