Upon removing my engine last night I noticed that the captive nuts on the rear end of the bottom radiator to gearbox mount were threaded and useless, meaning that the bracket was actually not tight. I also noticed that the bolts used seem quite thin compared to the hole in the gearbox but they were the correct thread for the captive nut at the end )before they were threaded).
Any thoughts on what I should do? Retap the bracket? Put a nut and washer on?
Cheers

Re: Bottom Radiator to gearbox mount...
I'd find another bracket, shouldn't be too hard to find.
Failing that, maybe helicoil (with some loctite) them, not sure on that as I sit here without having a closer look, or if not that, cut the nuts that are on there off and weld new ones on. I wouldn't fit 'loose' nuts, it would make it a bitch to remove when it's all in the car.

Re: Bottom Radiator to gearbox mount...
those brackets are easy to find, id just use another
I wonder if someone has used metric bolts in it, that would pull the threads out?
