Work is getting in the way at the moment, but I had a bit of a push this week and made some progress.
Rear subframe has gone in, but still needs the brakes & hubs fitting, and the tank has been sprayed ready for fitting. I've not got any photos of these bits of progress though.

I've refurbed the master cylinders with Frost's new 'brake fluid resistant' paint - we'll have to wait and see if it does what it says on the tin, but I am very happy with the colour:

The headlining & front screen are in:

And the all important arches and side trim are on:

I really think the arches suit the car and colour and are just that little bit different in the UK. I do need get some better pictures of them - need to open the garage door and let some daylight in, once it isn't too cold!

We're really happy with the way it is shaping up as things progress.

Are they Aussie arches?

That master cylinder paint looks very good. Have you tested it with brake fluid yet? If it holds up it looks like a terrific solution.

Yep, they're Aussie arches. I really like the clean look they give with no fixings and still being able to fit the seam strip.

Not tried the brake fluid resistance of the paint yet - I keep meaning to do a sample panel to drip some fluid onto.

Aussie flares/arches do look good. Here is a '79 GT I did up for my daughter, note the NZ stripes which I think might have been found on South African GT's too.

Nice 66S - that's a bonny looking GT.

Well another weekend, another push. I've now been informed from the 'project manager' that my deadline is not until July; but whilst I have momentum I'm keeping going (plus the parts will get dearer in the new year with all that extra VAT).

This weekend's efforts saw the rear brakes finished apart from the last bit of hard piping and the boot fitted out and boot lid installed, although I'm not happy with the number plate lamp gasket as it has shrunk and the catch seems a little stiff - might be 2 steps forward 1 step back as I strip these off again to remedy. Looked good for the photies though

Can't wait to get it into daylight and get some proper pictures of the colour though

Well, been plodding along with this. Working away makes progress slower, but we're getting there.....

Interior's nearly finished and all the electrics work apart from the horn, which i think is knackered rather than the electrics being wrong :( .
Need to find some correct screws and things for the door furniture on the driver's side though.

I'm not trying to be picky but......... I noticed the foam filler on the dials should it not be behind the top dash rail ? also the door strap seal looks wrong ie LH on RH side?

I like the mini 40 colour. Also I think there is some thing missing from the rubber boot on the floor between the seats, can't think what though. ;)

To be honest you could be right about both the foam filler strip and the check strap seals - neither were on the car when I stipped it down so it was a bit of guess work! I'll have a look and see if they fit better your way!

That looks fantastic!

Those foam filler things for the check straps are a bugger, i tried to fit them to one of my minis and gave up as they put to much pressure between the hinge pannel and the door! it felt horrid, i just took them off! i know there not right for the car but the later sportspack ones would probably be better if you experience what i did.

Also i think the choice of the grey carpet looks brilliant with the black and red! very nice!!! thats a really bonny looking car you have there. very nicely finished! keep up the good work

Yes I had the same problem, I took a knife, and cut them on the back, so they became thinner
it helped the problem, but why dont they just make them right instead of this useless cr-p
its the same with the boot seal

It's the first time I've read this thread. Very nice indeed. I like the aussie arches with the hidden fixings, and the colour scheme looks great.
