Hi Cooper1970, welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry to say that "Powerspark" is not a name I have come across.

Re: Ignition Problems!
My wife's 1293 'S' engined clubby estate has one of these, simply because I won a new kit off Ebay for a fiver. It's been no trouble and took about 15 minutes to fit. Are you having problems with yours or just curious?
Probably surfing.

Hmm, I have one about 6 months old. Simple to fit and a great job. I now however, have a cold misfire, I've not really investigated this much but the misfire does have a relationship with throttle position and at the same time as the miss happens the rev counter dies off.

Re: Ignition Problems!
I remember fitting an electronic ignition pack and uprated coil to my woody 1380 years ago. Read the instructions because it was all cutting edge tech and worked out how to fit. for some reason the ignition had to be on for one setting so it was "make sure you do not touch the green wire or the unit will trigger". So what you do is keep thinking...... don't do that,..... don't do that, don't ...BLOODY HELL THAT HURT.

Re: Ignition Problems!
This misfire was annoying me but the thing was ok warm, did 30 miles today alright, but after an hour sat outside I had the miss when I went out to put the car away.
Back on points , misfire gone and rev counter fine again.

Re: Ignition Problems!
Have you got Vacuum Advance? The wires may have worn from movement of the plate. That's about the only thing that makes any sence to me.wantafaster1 wrote:Hmm, I have one about 6 months old. (shouldn't this thread be moved to the Tech section?)

Re: Ignition Problems!
It is indeed more of a Tech Section topic.
I had similar misfires and finally failure on a Bosch distributor with a Hall Effect sensor. As Spider said, it was fatigue failure of the 3 wires from the breaker plate that exited the distributor. The car would idle OK but as soon as the vacuum advance came on the three wires would be pulled apart and the engine would stumble and die. As the engine died, the wires would make contact again and the car would resume a normal idle. However, I would not expect that on a new module.
