That is very nice! 8-)
Yes, that does look very nice, but as in many cases, if you put all the original parts to one side you would build another car !!

KFC chicken riley elf 'fully rotisseried'

for £8500 grand I would expect the correct sills to be fitted, not some el-cheapo wonky 6 vent cover sills,......

id also like the bonnet to fit at the front and the wing to actually show some care and attention where they where welded to the inner wings.

verdict - could do better, a lot better

Are those bonnet hinges original? I've never noticed them before?

Yes, they are Elf & Hornet bonnet hinges.

Mutant bonnet hinges were tubular to take the extra weight of the bonnet assembly. The seller will do well to get anywhere near what he wants for a Mk3 Mutant, even a mint early car would struggle.

Wow - that's fantastic attention to detail - even fitted an airbag and adjustable headlamps ;)

I do like the Elf though - although it is a tad expensive

Wow, the level of detail on that car is simply staggering. Somebody has gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure that you can't tell that car apart from a genuine 2001 Cooper. I wonder if the poor sod who lost their 2001 Cooper in the last 12 months might find solace in being able to buy one very similar back albeit a different colour with the silver part of the leather dyed red...
Wonder if it sold???

There's a long thread on one of the Mini Facebook groups about it - someone reckons they've got an admission from the seller that it's stolen. I see the auction's been pulled following what must have been a lot of accusations that the car is not what it seems.

Sadly, it looks like a really nice car, save for the seat facings..

I bet the attention to detail even went as far as making sure the doors have side impact protection and I bet that somewhere there's even a 'replica' chassis number..

Nice bit of logbook tennis there, actually that "Mk3" reminds me of that lovely original Cherry Red '60 Morris that was disguised as an amazingly early '59 Austin that caused so much hoo-ha recently, only that "Mk3" is probably more accurate!

Always puts me right off a car when they do that. Surely if you cant be bothered to spell or write a proper sentence, could there be hidden shortcuts in your work?

did the ebay auction go through and some poor bugger bought it as a '59?

Haven't a clue but if someone pays £1000 or £100,000 for a lemon it's their money and their choice at the end of the day. Nobody forces people to buy this stuff. I suppose underneath some of these ringers like that "Mk3" though could well be a stolen car, though I suspect it's 1990's chassis number is still on it under some mutty.

I know it's not all that common to get ripped off on Ebay or online generally but it does happen. Fair enough sometimes a seller's description can differ to that of a buyer or their opinion of value differs but sometimes sellers do it specifically to decieve. For anyone thinking it's just unscrupulous Mini parts sellers you can rest assured. I just bought some Cibie lamps from a seller on 'Leboncoin' in France and the fekin dishonest seller posted different lamps from the ones that he sent specific pictures of, one has a crack in it. Both useless anyway as they're wrong. Luckily the bowls are correct and decent but it goes to show that when you buy anything online outside of an established business (most of the time!) you are taking a gamble with your money.

I certainly wouldn't dream of buying lots of other parts online without seeing them, especially engine parts but even when you think you're safe a dishonest seller can swap the parts after you've agreed a sale and paid. I have heard of a few people being done this way and getting different parts than they agreed to buy. Only lowlife are capable of doing that.

Anyone with a Renault R8 need some damaged concave Cibie 155s?
