Afraid not. It really seems to be an event that only attracted some publicity in the UK because of a few loans of works cars. I never saw or heard any references to it in Belgium.

What I did see was a spoof photo of the "Belgian Police Knife", alongside a photo of the "Swiss Army Knife". Both were superficially identical until you looked more closely and saw all the implements/attachments on the "Belgian" version were bottle openers...

The potential entry list is worth a thought:
Maigret/Lucas Citroen Traction
Morse/Lewis Jaguar 2.4
Starsky/Hutchinson Ford Torino
Regan/Carter Ford Granada 3.0
Crockett/Tubbs Ferrari Testarossa
Bullitt/? Ford Mustang GT390
Bordey/Goodman Land Rover Safari
Gently/? Rover P5
Barnaby/Nelson Volvo
Lewis/Hathaway BMW
Bodie/Doyle Ford Capri 3.0
Cowley/? Ford Granada 2.8

Then there's the special invitation class for Private Investigators (where we find our first Belgian):
Hastings/Poirot Lagonda
Bergerac/? Triumph Roadster
Rockford/? Pontiac Trans Am
Magnum/? Ferrari 308GTB

You might find some useful contacts here

I searched "Rallye Police-Gendarmerie" and found the link.

Hi,
My old co driver is Peter Allworthy who competed on some of the sixties events and won the 1966 event with Mick Radford driving. Peter lives in West Yorkshire.
He and I were the last Mini to win an International award before homologation ran out in 1986 in a Mini Clubman 1275GT.
Roy Ingleton who lives in Kent also competed on this event in the sixties and came 2nd in class, 6th overall in 1965 using the works Mini cooper S, DJB 92B. Roy has written a book about John Gott who also competed on this event and I believe won it.
The late Clifford Wrigley was another competitor in the sixties.
Tom Bradley.

Surely in the PI class we would have to have Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) in a (red) mini SDL?

Further to my previous reply. Peter Allworthy also sat beside John Gott on the 1971 event in an Escort RS1600 but theyb failed to finish.
