Re: Front end for 63 Austin 850
At the start of '63, FE numbers were abaout 400,000, rising to about 600,000 by the end of that year.
Chassis (VIN) numbers went from 350,000 to 500,00 over the same period.
So 6604 - you're OK. But Fred, your FE dates to May '61.

A bit in the same line, as I'm a town-mate of Fred1380 ...
"Further to your enquiry the car with chassis number A-A2S7-L/402702 is a CKD (complete knock down) which was shipped to Belgium as parts and assembled there. We don't have built records for these vehicles, just a list of chassis numbers and the destination. The batch of parts left the factory on 25th May 1963 and the car is a left hand drive vehicle…"
FE395648
So I seem to be in the "good" average for both...
However since this is an -L ... I have some doubts on the Super/DeLuxe or whatever denomination :
- mono-tone Smoke Grey
- mono-tone Red interior
- Simple speedo
- "white" cardboard on dashboard
- no dash rail cover
- but all chrome details
- bumpers with over riders
- dual sun blinds
- etc...
How would call my version ? Or do I just have a lot of 'options' on a 'normal' car ?
Also it's strange as "supposingly" Senefe only started to build as of 65 ? Where was it build then in Belgium ?
Thanks in advance.
