how is an air duct to front panel adaptor fitted to a Mk2?

Post by evonaut »

having located a used one of these.......

......... i wonder whether anyone could post some detail photos of exactly how they are fitted to a mk2 cooper s.

main point is whether they are fitted from behind, or from the front? from behind makes sense apart from the ends of the screws poking out forwards!

input, as usual, will be much appreciated!

I'll have a look on my old front panel at the weekend. I think it just screws in
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.

That would make sense, as the angled support bar on later S,s are rivited too.

no need to scrat about hunting for one, they are available new from MiniWorld Manufacturing
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171229203642 and the piping and fastenings from Gordon at Catmint.

Having said all that I've mounted mine wrong looking at those pics, mines at the lower edge of the grille, I'd just copied the placement of the one on my other mk1 mini.

Plenty of mk1 steel ones available. It's the plastic mk2 ones that are so hard to find!
