Hello guys,
I prepared my mk3 for the "maxi1000",
I will have to fit some FIA approved seats,
What is the best way to fit the seat?
We can find a lot of different seat bracket on the market!
What doy you use? how do you fit it?
Thank you for your help!

Re: Best way to fix a race bucket seat?
I used the cobra side mounts on mine, but had to space them up and cut them around a little to clear the cross member
its also important to fit a good bit of steel bar UNDER the floor so the bolts cannot rip up through the floor in the event of an accident
ive see a couple of bad mini race accidents where this has happened!
I spent a lot of time making sure that my seat was direct in line with the steering wheel (often they will be offset in a mini) as I prefer that, with mine I had to compromise a little as my brother sometimes shares my car and he is shorter than me, so we both had to experiment a little to see what suited us both.

Dear Rich
Thank you for your answer, do you have any pictures?
I have also seen Weld in seat subframes,

I would like to avoid welding but it seems to be a good idea

Re: Best way to fix a race bucket seat?
i fitted some similar to the ones in the link to a mates car, but i think he got them from JB fabrication, i can't see them on his site, but i have photos which i will put up, try sending him a email.
you weld the fixings to the bar but the plate on the end are design to fit a mini and bolt to the floor. they come with extra plates to go on the underside of the floor, we had to put a slight bend in them to fit the tunnel better
the drivers set was a FIA race seat with the brackets rich was talking about and it all worked the same way
