Oil gallery plugs

Hi , on 312 S block how many oil gallery plugs should there be ? Either end .ie water pump end and flywheel end . Mini spares website says four . Well I can only find two , one either end ... Ken

Just two, one at either end of the gallery, on the S block.

If you're using the 'pressed brass' bungs in place of the original brass plugs, be aware they are not such a tight fit in the block. So if you run with the ball bearing in place of the standard plunger in the relief valve and have a good oil pump, don't be too surprised if the bung at the flywheel end pops out when starting in sub-zero weather conditions. Been there...

Yes thanks for reply . I gave the new shiny brass plugs a big of a key up , then tapped them in with loctite around them . Hopefully they will be ok . ... Ken

'Stake' the end of the hole too, to be sure, to be sure. It won't stop it leaking (if it's going to) but it will stop it falling out!

Maybe they meant the two 1/2" plugs and also the two 1/4" plugs?
