Pick up and van owners, please help !

Hi,

Pick-ups (and vans I guess) have two flat plates welded to the each of the rear floor pans to give extra strength to where the seat sits. The attached pic shows these plates. The inner one, curves up the tunnel slightly.

Can anyone give me some measurements of how big these plates are and how far back from the seat crossmember they are please ?

The picture is from the pick up I sold a few years ago but I can't find the measurements I took, only the photos. The plates (and floors) of my current pick up rusted away long before I thought about restoring it

the factory must have assumed that van and pick up drivers where fatter than car buyers!

Yes, you do have to wonder the rationale behind these plates on commercials

Saloons had rubbing strips made on the rear carpets, van has no carpet.
