He has the rear engine in the wrong way round, and has had a camshaft made to make it run the other way, if that makes sense.
It makes sense, but I'm not sue if it is sensible!

Re: Mini Prototype - Orange Box
Wouldn't be surprised if it turned up on eBay.. "1958 Barn Find Austin/Morris/Cooper/S/Tax Exempt Mini with V5"
"...found after many years in a lockup in Worcestershire, beleived to be reshelled in the early 70's this prototype Mini has all it's original features like a wheel at each corner (upgraded to 13" sportpack with phat arches), an engine which has been reversed to be the right way round and upgraded to run a modern MPi system in what we beleive is a Mk3 shell as the original was too far gone..."
No reserve, bids starting at £14,100...

Re: Mini Prototype - Orange Box
Just been re-reading my copy of this booklet below (see extract posted below)....well worth buying one if you missed getting a copy back in 2020.
Mini anniversary booklet, from the men who made it.
"A collection of ‘insider’ ex-Apprentice memories of Minis and Mokes over those years, covering launch, development, competition, home and export sales etc. Packed with memories for people who were actually there."
https://www.aronline.co.uk/news/magical-mini-memories/
'Magical Mini Memories' Item R18 (scroll down in link below for details)
This great booklet appears to still be available from the Austin Apprentices Association for £4.75 (£2 plus £2.75 p&p) from:-
