Good old 240's Is that a Lancia at the back?
Al, I think it's going to handle real bad with such a narrow front track

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
Mark,
Find it in the lower half of the Globe!
Not easy to find the correct paint code fo Connaught Green, I will try the Morgans' paint code in the late 50's, that is easier for the paint shop to trace!
Any engine rebuild paln for your 1300TS?

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
Al,
Contact COOPERCO on here, I am sure he will hace a paint code for the correct shade of Green.
The engine on the Speedwell car is one of the few more or less intact things on there, OK it has lost its head & carbs, but the rest is all original, 333 box, S block, lightened flywheel, balanced etc. I domn't know about the cam yet. But the idea is to put it back to the specification it was in the Motorsport article in May 66.

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
Nice,
and a nice Lancia Fulvia in the background, is it in the classic lancia blue shade ?
Used to own one, brilliant car.
Al, where about do you live in Hongkong ?
I design a building there : the Putman Hotel, on Queens road, on behalf fo Andrée Putman studio.
I have very good memories of the many trips I made to HK for business.
Cheers,
Etienne

Yes!
Bingo! she is a Lancia in dark blue,
I live in New Territories, Skek Kong, where a small air force field is located, lots of classic cars laid up in that area, sad to abandon, did you visit Hong Kong after the 1997?

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
Al,
Fulvias are nice and very capable cars, what an engine they have !
For visiting my clients and work sites, I used to do 2-3 weeks round trips Paris-HK-Shanghaï-Tokyo and some times Bangkok and return every 2-4 months, between 2004 and 2007. I am an architect and I designed two buildings in HK, one on Queens road, 208 - close to Central really, see picture below - and one on Connaught road - which should be close to completion, although I really don't know as I do not have any relationship with my former company.
I have very good memories of Hongkong despite the fact that the weather is not my favorite - I prefer cold North Yorkshire !
I particularly remember a classic car event in front of the Town Hall on a sunday morning - very strange for me as the gold natural light that is typical of HK changed the colours of the car - in my occidental eye at least.
There are numerous nice cars in HK, a client of mine had a Ferrari 250 California - not my favorite but rare all the same.
Cheers

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
A selection of greens here but all very similar.
Period paperwork states ICI P030-152 for their green.

Re: GPH1C Replica Asia
Very nice building, my office is at Connaught Road too!
CooperCo, your ICI paint code is ancient art here! could not find a match, but the paint code 12G295 given is easier for paint shop to search- BL GN18 means the correct Connaught green color for Morgans! when they heard Mini color, they think of BRG !
Like those for the C and D type Jag's

It's certainly very nice here in Yorkshire today, Etienne. Below freezing and a few inches of snow. Just wish I had a mini finished to go and enjoy it!
