My 1965 Morris Mini-Minor

Post by ADO15 »

Hi everyone!
I thought I would send a pic of my mini now that it is finally back on the road after having a little blow out on the #3 piston head...

Crikey! That nut has been rattling around for some time before it was finally eaten!

Glad you are up & running again.

That other bit is what that stupid nut punched out of piston! Found both the nut and the other bit in the gearbox. :?
Well, I'm back on the road now and should be for many years to come!

The really odd thing about that nut job is that although the nut must have been rattling round behind the valve for ages, as soon as it finally made it past the valve & into the combustion chamber it punched a hole straight through on the first attempt. Usually these will rattle around for a few seconds before punching through making a real mess of the top of the piston. Yours is particularly minimalist!
