Another 'S' to be re-incarnated?
Thought this wasn't supposed to happen.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
You have to have a current MOT and tax on the car and it has to be available for inspection before you can get the plate on retention.
As far as I know, you can't 'sell' a V5 document in it's own right as you don't technically own it, it belongs to the DVLA.
I presume the done thing is to marry it up with an age appropriate shell and reconstruct the car in accordance with the DVLAs rules..

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Its most likely of value to someone who wishes to re-construct a 1275GT using a brand new Heritage Clubman bodyshell and suitable parts without the hassle and difficulties of a new registration application/vehicle tests/approvals with a lower value replica as a result. The desire for someone to do that will no doubt increase over future years as 1275GT values continue to climb.......in a similar way that a Mk1/2/3 Cooper S V5 registration document has been valuable and sought after on the open market for many years now.....when sold discreetly!Chewie Baker wrote:On a similar note, i have a registration document for a 1275GT mini in my name

Rusty later MK1 shell + logbook (that we now all know the reg number of) + possibly a 1071 engine does not = £15000, maybe £4-5000 on a really good day

I agree, people think they are sitting on a gold mine, but really they have a pile of rust. I believe prices have gone absolute insane when it comes to "cooper" and "S"..............mk1coopers wrote:Rusty later MK1 shell + logbook (that we now all know the reg number of) + possibly a 1071 engine does not = £15000, maybe £4-5000 on a really good day

Well at least everyone will know what 484 EMR used to be like, as found and pre restoration.
Any future prospective buyer will only have to search the internet and then can make up their own mind as to what they are buying

UHR. That type of headlight rim were never fitted on Radfords. Radfords did use a similar one off a Riley 1.5 as an option on there pre 65 cars.

The crazy thing about that one is that I think he is seriously asking £15,000 for a pile of shite & a logbook.
The word deluded springs to mind!

The vin plate made £180.
That's quite shocking.
I'm good mind to cut a hole in the roof of mine, so when I am not using it, I can open a window and chain it to a lamp post or tree.

£180 for a chassis plate that belongs to a 997 that doesn't have any paperwork or even a number plate attached to it and could well exist somewhere else. Good luck with that logbook application! In the shed wrote:The vin plate made £180.

Since DVLA don't appear to enforce any "sillies", I presume they will just comply.
