Hi alexdenevers,

Are you refering to a particulary bad Alexander accessory, the mock knock on wheels.

After being deported from the USA for being an illegal alien in 1989 she seems to have dropped off the radar although there was rumour she drove a taxi for a while after her return to the UK. She was also a champion mastif breeder in the UK and then moved to the USA and then it all went horribly, horribly wrong.

I think Chris Montague was still racing that car into the 70's, unless Alexander replaced it. Not heard that Liz Jones story Simon, very little info about her around. I unearthed a nice shot of her in 'Liz 1' at Oulton recently (see latest MCR mag) and do have quite a few of Lanfranchi which I'll be printing in some future edition.

Bernie,

What was the relationship between "Michael Christie Motors" & Alexander I assume that Michael was MD of both companies, but was the company a main dealer or anything. ANy info would be much appreciated.

Another great photo too!

Thanks

Bernie

I think the above picture was taken @ Snetterton in March 1964. The other car looks more like MC58 with the large stripe.

I read an article recently about the Rolling Stones which included Tommy Weber. It was a review of A Day In The Life: One Family, the Beautiful People, and the End of the Sixties by Robert Greenfield.

Weber had an early 1071 S that he raced and he was pretty good but drink and drugs got the better of him although I think he lingered on until 2006.

The picture below is of Weber/Mario Cabral in 236 YKN @ Mallory Park in 1964. They were going well but I think Cabral crashed.

By most accounts Liz Jones should best be remembered for her Mini racing.

Hi Simon,

The back of the photograph, my hand written notes, show Liz Jones and Tommy Weber 1963, Mick Clare always transported MC58 direct from his garage in Bedfordshire, I think the photograph was taken at the back of Alexander's premises.
