Not outwardly expensive this, but neither is it a Mk1...

Classic Morris Mini MK1 1959 – 1960 – 1961 – 1962 door kick black plastic inserts LH and RH.
As originally fitted to 1959 to 1962 Morris Minis only. (Austin Minis had the aluminium plates but these will fit)
The original Morris part numbers are:-
ADA3733 Protector, door pocket, RH
ADA3734 Protector, door pocket LH
These protectors are reproductions reverse engineered from undamaged originals for a classic Morris Mini Mk 1 rebuild. Due to popular request I have made some more. They are slightly thicker plastic than the originals and are thus more resistant to kick damage. Also they are slightly ‘over sized’ around the edges to allow trimming to suit your particular door pocket aluminium strip mouldings (items ADA3735 and ADA3736) that can vary a bit . Holes will need to be cut in the correct places for the door check strap screws.
See photo of a RH Protector fitted to my own rather battered 1960 Morris Mini.

Now available with new aluminium strip mouldings included to suit:-

Good luck to the seller , but have to say its one of those things that even if I had a 59 mini that needed one I still wouldn't pay over £50 for what is just a glass bottle . ... Ken

They're original equipment on early cars and unlike plastic types they don't survive as well, hence a strong international demand for any that turn up. Supply and demand really, hard to argue with. If someone's got a £15K mint '59 that's lost it's washer bottle it's understandably worth strong money to finish that car off, just like an original factory recliner's worth big money, there's so few of them and repro ain't for everyone.

I get that but are they that unique? Are they not common to a load of other applications?

Very nice, one to keep largely as it is and try to get some of the black paint off whilst preserving what's underneath (and I'd put the roof back to black) then just enjoy it

Black roof and trim is an odd choice for So Cal! Another decent find that!
