Think you are wrong here. My 64 S's have holes here and this is where the negative cable is fixed to the floor. The clip is 2K 6849 and is found in AKD 3509 page MN 12coopertim wrote:Right again Pete! Just spotted the hole for the floor start next to the neatly cut remote hole!!!

Why the shape is wrong?masnarda wrote:The shape of the hole in the tunnel is wrong to start with
only mk2s had the tiny cut outs in the hole, the mk1 was smoothDr.Mabo wrote:Why the shape is wrong?masnarda wrote:The shape of the hole in the tunnel is wrong to start with
I can see square cut outs around the holes in the cross member, so I assume the gear lever hole should be original too. This part of the body looks pretty original in my eyes.
so long

The fact the hole's there is why I said '64 (plus the sunvisor mount),holes were there on all the Cooper/non Cooper shells as far as I know but by '65 the hole was gone.Gareth Brandt wrote: Think you are wrong here. Yes On all remote shells there are "cut outs" for the bolts. And yes, it's a pre wet shell with the right "welded on nuts", later on these had a different shapePete wrote:The fact the hole's there is why I said '64 (plus the sunvisor mount),holes were there on all the Cooper/non Cooper shells as far as I know but by '65 the hole was gone. Is it a Cooper? Well actually Mk1s did have the cross member flange cut out where the remote bolts go through Rich, I didn't see that when I looked first time round (not sure when that feature started) so.....actually it may well be a pre '65 Cooper/S The plate covering the pudding stirrer hole looks retro fitted which also swayed me by maybe the owner just removed it and didn't blast it?Gareth Brandt wrote: Think you are wrong here.
