Cooper 50

With next year being Cooper 50 what do you think will happen to the (already) high sale prices being asked for Cooper's and S's?, looking at the various classic car sites / Ebay I've seen MK1's above £25K, MK2's in the £15's, and MK3's £10's+ (mostly S's). We all know this doesn't mean these cars are selling for these prices (though some may), but there was a jump in Mini prices before Mini 50 (especially 59 models) that doesn't seem to have softened that much yet, which is good if you want to sell, not so good if you want to buy

Not sure S prices can keep rising that much, having risen so much in the last couple of years, but then look what people are asking for Lotus Cortinas.

Is it true that Goodwood are having a Mini Cooper celebration at the Revival? seems very similar to the Mini one last year? or is it the MCR organising something to co-incide with the revival, as an addition to Beulieu?

I'm not entirely sure prices have gone stratospheric despite some advertised prices when you consider the difficulty some of our posters have had shifting cars recently for reasonable money ! There was a correctly listed Mk1 '67 S that went on Ebay a few weeks ago that I know was original because I know the car well, in tidy condition with original recliners for less than ten grand. Seen a few nice S's go for less than £15 recently so I'm not so sure....
Having said that I saw a Mk2 998 Cooper sell for £11K at the NEC today .

Possibly one of Australias best, touch over 30k (Pounds) at todays exchange rate...

Prices are currently all over the place. It is impossible to gauge things sensibly as prices asked are rarely prices paid.

Personally speaking I can't see there being a big jump in Cooper prices next year, as the economy is still flat on its arse & people don't seem to be spending like they were.

I am however certain that really good genuine cars be they Coopers, S's or even standard Minis still have some way to go yet.
