1967 Austin Woody Countryman

Post by KA2S4 »

Hi people,

Here is my next project, it's an actual "Barn Find" (the red one)

Very original old girl, not been on the road since 1996.

She's a little rusty, but still quite sound, more pics to follow.

Nice! What year James? Looks similar to mine (but yours in better nick!) late 67, just before Mk2.

Mines a future project, in storage, look forward to seeing yours progress!

Mines a 67 too, built 17th April, dispatched 29 June for Henleys, Bristol.

It came to New Zealand in 1969.

AFAIK we never assembled them here.

Excellent, I suspect they are quite close, I'll PM you my numbers, I haven't got a heritage cert for mine yet, but did look up the numbers last time I was at Gaydon.

Not sure how mine got to Aus as they weren't built here either.

The wood is all off mine and in various states of disrepair, are you sourcing new wood?

I'm sure we will speak more (I hope!)

Great project! :D

Graham, thanks for your comments, the wood will be replaced eventually, not sure if I'll buy a kit or have some made here - my dad could do it.

Looks familiar.... if the link works :)

Cheers, Ian

PS Can anyone enlighten me as to why the photos stored in Picasa don't work using the "(img)" option??? ...Or what I did wrong when I tried (see above).

As you can see the rear doors have been replaced and there is no badging or wood.

Has anyone got a good pic or dimensions of where the badges would be?

Thanks boys.

Found this one in Upper Kaiapoi...

I reckon there's still plenty (some) left to be had out of sheds etc, better be quick though!
