Just for the comparisan, the TJ also needs an awkward inlet manifold, the MS kit should fit a treat.

Rich, get a manifold made to suit the KAD heads and you've got a sale ;)

verg

why bother?

it would be easier to get a pair of short throttle bodies to attach to your kad manifold

Well, new Minispares throttle bodies fitted to my 8 port to replace the Jenvey type on angled manifolds.

Tuned on rolling road today with considerable changes to the previous management settings which gave more mid-range power.

Off the Brands Hatch for last Heritage GTCC meeting for this season (which is why we are not at Mallory with the 1293cc FIA car) and praying for rain.

Video to follow.

Did you buy the whole kit or just the parts of it you needed?
Got any pics of it in the car?

I'm still thinking about it, but its a lot of money!

We just bought the throttle bodies to replace the Jenvey type we had. They will now go on the 8 port we have for our Sebring Sprite.

Thanks Mike,
Thats a lovely looking power curve on that display :)

Looking at the photo, the air filter doesn't come as far forward as I thought it would? There doesn't appear to be cutouts in the slam panel, is that correct?

I measured up my amals last night and its approx 150mm to the end of the belmouths from the cylinder face, then I've got the air filter which is right up against the underside of the bonnet, even though I've not centralised the filter baseplate on the carbs to try and gain some room!

From the earlier photos its hard to make out but is there a radius on the end of the bodies or is it straight and some sort of short rampipe goes on the ends?

Hi Richspec,

There are no cutouts in the slam panel, all we had to do was cut the ears off the filter mounting back plate as we run our cooler above the radiator. Without that there, we could retain the filter Dzus fasteners instead of the cable ties we used.

If you take the filter off, the bell mouths of the ram pipes only protrude into the filter by 12mm hence them fitting under the round nose bonnet.

Will post a link to better photographs later.

How much power did it make at which rpm? Also, which cam are you using? Just gathering information if it's not a secret ;)

Hi Vegard,

100bhp at the wheels, 7500rpm Kent Cams race 8 port but can't currently confirm their profile number.

Car will be up for sale soon to fund a new project.

How does this compare to high spec 1293 5 ports IE historic and Miglias on that rolling road?
Thanks.

I don't know the answer to that but it depends on whose rolling road you use, they are so variable as to the figures they wish to quote.

All I can say from driving it, is that is has huge torque from low revs and is very user friendly aside from the torque steer of the diff which keeps you pretty busy and pumps your arms up!!

Just edited this as I re-read your post, I don't know what other Minis they have had on this rolling road.
