My unfinished project and other cars

Post by Verax »

Hi,

I enjoy old English cars and especially early mini.
I find this amazing forum and I consult for many years. Now is the time to present my latest project and other cars that I enjoy for a few years

First of all here is my first car that my grand mother gave me (first hand) when i passed my driving license : a grey Austin 1100 special. I owned it since 21 years.
I made a few modifications and it is a bitza: 1098 engine bored out to 1150 cc, 12g1805 cylinder head, forged piston , gearbox Innocenti Cooper, lightened flywheel, 4-piston brake caliper ... She's a good car to perform a bit circuit and few rallies. The body is a bit tired now and needs to be rebuild.

the second car I have gained is an Austin Healey frogeye 1959.
It was restored in accordance with the origin (948 engine and gearbox flat housing).
Some modifications were made: disc brakes in the front, twin carburetor HS 2 manifold and full exhaust maniflow. A great car to have fun on the back roads in good weather!

For longer trips I use a MGB GT 1969 I had the chance to buy his first owner who has retained 35 years. It is completely original and has never been restored, it works perfectly and the original upholstery retains a beautiful patina. It was just repaint once in 1990 (dark green, original paint was primerose yellow).

Finally, the last that I love and that is not over yet: an August 1960 Austin seven. This car is a barnfind, it was kept for 25 years in a garage. I got it back there 14 years and luckily the body was healthy. Unfortunately it had been repainted in mustard yellow and tack was covered with black sky. I did not want to restore state contest, I just wanted to keep as much original part and enjoy the car for historic rallies.
We were able to retain 95% of the original body and the car was repainted in its original color Grey Farina. It keeps the little details of the versions of 1959 (seats frame, Gutters, A panel ...).
The idea is to equip it with some period accessories: Microcell contour seat, Karobe seat cover, Speedwell dials and Smith rev counter. Engine is tired and I'd really like to rebuild the engine like 7879 nk spécifications, it would be a lot of fun i think !

You have a very nice collection of cars & I think the MGB looks much better in BRG than primrose yellow! I used to drive a Primrose Yellow MGC
Thanks for sharing the photos & good luck with your great cars.

Hi, thanks a lot lord crocker !

I found some pictures of the refresh of the austin Seven; not nuts and bolt restoration, just want to preserve the original panel that could be saved. Just the rear Valence and the Back Panel Lower had been replace.sills and floors were perfect.
