Recommended Insurance companies

My car needs re-insuring this week and wondered if any of you would recommend companies members use to insure their modified Mini's? I am talking Cooper S in standard trim but for a few mods ie 1380, big SU's and a leather trim including Recaro front seats. I specifically want agreed value too. I appreciate that costs are variable depending on the driver but I am an insurance companies dream on paper.......(well that's what I think) Any advice welcomed.
On another note I guess there are members who have more than one Mini. Do any of you manage to insure more than 2 cars using one policy without difficulty? Cheers. Mark

Rich & I both use RH http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/ They are very economical, but you need to read your policy very carefully, they do seem to have some odd exceptions!

Flux can be either perfect or perfectly crap - its luck of the draw I think!
I was with them for a yr with the 16V track mini, as i wanted cover while trailering - which most policys don't cover

I,m with Sureterm with the Mk1, they've been fine apart from a really annoying habit of sending letters out when you're renewing asking for documents back 'within seven days or you policy will be cancelled' or somesuch.
Pain in the arse when the second letter only comes a day or two after the first one! and you're working away all week...

Apart from that they're good.

I can recommend Hagerty Classic Car Insurance.

Worth getting a quote, I was suprised how reasonable they were.

rh are very good as they do multi car policies, which is something none of the 'specalist mini' lot offer

We use Classic line, and have six classics including our modified 'S' and Sebring Sprite, good people.

Wow, what a great response. Thanks for the advice. I will pursue a few of those names and see what they come up with. Mark/Rich- any particular conditions you are referring to?

i have about 6 cars on my policy

some are standard, but my racer is on there as well.

all have different agreed values, they didnt need all the mods listed - my racer is just put down as 'race car' and they are aware its not taxed or mot'd (from memory its got a limited mileage of 100, but it means its covered when its park / on a trailer / if its at a show etc etc - its not covered if its actually been used on a circuit) a couple are down just as 'projects/storage'

all have limited miles - the highest is 3000

a very decent company and very very helpful

ive never made a claim, so dont know what that side is like

From memory the greatest concern is that it has to be garaged during the hours of darkness or something similar.

Thanks Rich. It is such a pain to be limited to driving one vehicle esp when I can only drive one car at any given time. Will let you know how I get on. PS did anybody suss how to PM people on the forum. I gave up after a few goes on the new site.

I should really put my hand up and admit to working in the insurance industry.

Whilst I don't get invloved in personal insurance (I run a commercial insurance brokers, dealing mainly with motor trade risks) I am more than happy to help people with questions on policy cover / exclusions / warranties etc etc.
