Original low mileage unrestored cars

Post by Henry »

Was wondering how many original unrestored low mileage cars were still around, particularly Coopers or Cooper Ss? Anyone know of any?

Not sure how many are still around but I recall a very nice blue Mk1 S that I think came from the Channel Islands. Perhaps someone on this Forum knows more about it and has some photographs...?

I think the blue MK1 'S' your thinking of was a surf blue 1070. First saw it at thr NEC years ago, it had come off an 82 year old woman in Jersey, 6000 mile from new. Story was she went to buy an 850 and saw this and liked the colour. J33231 i think was the reg, an Austin. Another surf blue car my uncle turned up quite a few years ago and my dad should of bought an did'nt, 24k from new 997 Morris still on C41's and mint unrestored. £1500  :!: Probably in japan now. There is a browser on this forum with a delivery mileage from new OEW late MK1 850. ;)

seen of photo of a surf blue 997 that matches that description, went to Japan via Heritage.

edit - what happened to the almond green un-restored 1071 in Parnells book, had a nice plate that was removed?

Hello,

what do you think about very early 959 Morris. I like it.

Best regards

I saw that Mk1 850 at Mini 50 last year in one of the display tents. I think it only had 200 or so miles on the clock.

I can't remember the whole story but recall that the first owner hadn't used it since taking her driving test. There were still some L plates and a copy of the Highway Code inside!

It was being offered for sale but I don't know if it actually sold. The thing is, what would you do with such a low mileage example? To use it would surely spoil it?

There was a Almond Green 1071 @ Copenhagen Historic GP 2009.
It had a copy of Parnells book in the rearwindow, and some one said it was the same car?
think it was RHD? or converted?.

That is the first owner standing by the car when i picked it up

around 100km max. There are some more pics somwhere on the net,
maybe minicooper.org?
