Who'd have thought THAT would end up with a £30,000 price tag! The original shell must have been REALLY rough if that one was considered a big improvement!Simon776 wrote:It's not just the rear screen that is Mk 2! Yet another Radford here, sold in a jiffy :

Not the nicest lamp conversion admittedly but an interesting car, I do seem to remember being told many years ago that this car had been Radfordised in the late 80's/early 90's though the ad description suggests original paperwork? Anyone? ( Nev ! )

Oh that brings back memories!! looks like one of my early grass track cars, Has a dural rear beam which I'm sure was sold by Ripspeed back in the day and just a general Mongrel look about it. Don't stand too close it might bite!!!rich@minispares.com wrote:very cheap MK1 historic race car project for sale...........

I've checked my suspicions with that car and I'm correct in saying that it was built specifically as a 'replica' in the early 90's using some 70's W&P parts screwed to a 1967 Mini Auto (not Radford parts). If someone has shelled out £20K on that car, which it appears they have, with the idea that it's an actual Radford (or W&P!) as described they're gonna be in for a bit of a disapointment.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
It wasn't me Pete . I didn't know the history of this car, but with a full 60's W&P interior and Radford badges it never really sat right with me. I know the seller had a lot of paperwork from W&P and Radford but it could have been the 90's W&P and Radford company's ????? I don't know!Pete wrote:Pete wrote:Yet another Radford here, sold in a jiffy :

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Not sure Nev, but considering it wasn't built by either company it's curious why it had any Radford or W&P paperwork at all. Last time it sold it was very transparently described as a replica and the previous owner that took it to Bulee didn't try and bluff anybody that it was real either.

Agree, fugly front, but dont take to the Merc grill either, the original WP setup was the best looking for a Mini.
