Removing the Engine

Post by Sherlock1962 »

after a few issues with my 1962 Mk1, Ive decided to take the engine out, get it converted to unleaded and maybe a re-bore and do a general check

Is there anything else I should look out for?
and can anyone recommend a garage in the Manchester area that can covert to unleaded and a re-bore

thanks

...always a good idea to do the diff gaskets and seals.
Remove and check the gearchange knuckle splines.
Replace the speedo drive seal.
Eyeball the clutch.

Was the timing chain noisy ?

Also grease the nipple on the diff housing.

The thing is once you checking & replacing, you never stop.
