Hi,
Can anyone with a pick up let me know the diameter and height of the rear number plate plinth rubber buffer please? I know they are considerably bigger than saloon buffers.
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Mini pick up info
Hi Andrew
I tried to measure the visible part of one in situ with a steel tape measure so this is approximate.
Width at base (diameter) 25mm. Height (distance of tip from panel) 30mm. Sits in a recess, so a bit hard to measure in situ!
Hope that helps.

Re: Mini pick up info
Thats exactly what I wanted, many thanks
I asked the same question on the forum that specialises in pick-ups, but it seemed a difficult question to answer there
The one on my pick up tailgate is missing but I bought some NOS BMC buffers last weekend (no part number) that I thought looked correct and are a snug fit in the recess. The ones I bought are 30mm tall and also 30mm diameter which is pretty much the diameter of the recess in the tailgate pressing.
As the height is the same I think they'll do the job. They are unobtainable new, even in crappy repro. Chinese rubber

Re: Mini pick up info
Sorry for the delay, I've been away,
My hasn't got one fitted, but the hole is about 5/8" dia.
That makes it too big for a Mk 1 saloon boot-lid buffer, which seems odd as they do the same job.
I wonder if one could be fashioned from a front subframe bump rubber - a nice smelly job with the angle grinder !

Thanks WoodyPup59 (Colin ??)
If the ones I have will fit the tailgate hole and the number plate plinth sits correctly, I'll have a spare one available
