1963 Countryman Smooth roof

Post by rolesyboy »

Ta da. My latest bewt. July 1963 Smoothie. Very complete and pretty solid. Original front panel etc.
Deciding how far to go with this one. Thinking make it roadworthy, sling a roof rack and a 1275 in it and just enjoy it.
Anybody recognise it from years gone by?? Been in a garage ..ooops,I mean 'barn' for the last 25 years. Pretty sure a similar DER plate is on a Fiest Yellow 1071 S somewhere on the forum.

Hello

Lovely car!

Will you restore it a little bit?

Or just an engine swap??

Nice find Mark. Looks to be an honest unmolested example, but then again, I am biased.
keep us updated with the progress. ;)

Hahahaha, that has made me chuckle Rich. Funnily enough the headlining inside is mint. Great little car and a bit different for me. Swifty suggested go all the way and slot 'S' type running gear in it. Ummm, that juist cost me a family holiday. Look out M-Machine.

Really look forward to updates on this car, exactly what I was after to put my Alexander 7 port head on. I have a soft spot for smooth roof's. :D
