I thought some of you here might be interested to know that my new book on Mini derivatives has finally been finished and is available now.
It took me another 5 years to track down enough cars for it, and the following examples have made it to a full feature with plenty of untold tales and unseen pictures:
ABC Tricar • ABS Freestyle • AEM Scout • AF Spider & Grand Prix • Alto Duo • Andersen Cub • ASD Hobo • ASD Minim • Aurora BMC • Autocom Mini Buggy • Beach Car / Riviera Buggy • Brookwell Trifid • Camarotta • Codford Mini • Crayford Mini Sprint • Elswick Envoy • Fisher Spyder • Foers Nomad • Gecko • GP Yak • Greenwood Mini ‘sidecar’ • GTM Rossa • Hrubon Phaeton / Schmitt • Hustler 4 • Hustler 6 • IGM Minbug • Jackson Sportster • Jiffy • Jimini & Jimini 2 • Lawther GT • Libra Magnum • Magenta • Martini Mini ASC • Metron • Mini Beaver • Mini Mare • Minissima • Minus Maxi • Mosquito / Triad • New Era Mini • NJC Mini • Phoenix • Quasar-Unipower City car • Radford Mini De Ville • Ranger Cub • Roles XS-3 Road-star • RTV • Saga • Scamp Mk1 • Scamp Mk2 / Mk3 • Sekura Mini • Siva Mule • Status Sabot • Stewart & Ardern MiniSprint • Stimson Scorcher • Stimson Trek • TXC Tracer • Whitby Mini-Warrior • Wildgoose • Wood & Pickett Mini Margrave
It is available through my website www.jeroenbooij.com/books and I can post them to anywhere in purpose made boxes that protect them really well.
The first volume is still available, too, in limited numbers.

Re: My new book
me and mark sat on wils sofa the other night (no cuddling!) flicking through 'book 2' playing the 'would you own it game'
it went like this
no, no, no, yes, maybe, jesus Christ no, no, only the pink panther would drive that, no, no, no, yes, hell yes!
etc
very funny

Ha! I like that!
The funny thing is - when you spend lots of time trying to find out about these creatures and try to find one to photograph you just develop kind of a warm feeling towards the people who really thought the world needed these cars. And so I actually like many of the real oddballs. The Pink Panther one in particular!

Re: My new book
I love the Aurora BMC, the story behind it and am writing a piece on it right now! Real soft spot for that car, tried to reunite the car with Anita Taylor last week at Oulton (who did pop along) but it'll just have to wait until Blyton next year.
Look forward to reading the book Jeroen.

That is one very desirable car indeed, and it would be fantastic to see it reunited with Anita!Pete wrote:I love the Aurora BMC, the story behind it and am writing a piece on it right now! you know me jeroen, I don't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to the ownership of 'vile' kitcars.
the pink panther one is hilarious though, it looks as if the driver would need legs about 6 feet long to drive it.
maybe it was jc who built it....................................................
