Irish built Marcos in need of love
Always been on the fence when it comes to the Marcos, but I couldn't resist picking this up when I saw it.
It's an Irish built Marcos shell with no ID plates, no glass, no front, no doors etc and is in need of some love! I'm currently trying to identify the car which, even though only 40 were ever built in Ireland, could be challenging as no records were ever kept.
It's several exposed paint jobs might give some clues though along with the cut outs for the rear lights (anybody any ideas?) and the fact it appears to have been a race car.
I've managed to locate some original front end moulds which will come in handy already.
The plan going forward is to restore the body and it then may become a race car down the line, or, I might just sell it if there's an interested buyer!

The gel coat is actually pretty good...the flaking paint makes it look worse!rich@minispares.com wrote:lordy

I have Irish Marcos number 9. From what i understand many were used as grass track racers and not registered. Mine came to me in Australia via Japan. It is registered and is currently under restoration.

Nice project Neil - I've always loved the lines on a Mini Marcos. Looking forward to seeing updates on the build as you progress with it.
