Not sure what the score is re admission prices, I think Mini/MINI drivers get £4 off the adv ticket price (£18) if they book in advance, no freebies then! I was told a couple of months ago that clubs go free but have heard nothing back since.

Hi Pete
I can bring KDK along if you think it's appropriate.

Re: Oulton Park Mini Festival - July 12th
MSV who own Oulton, Brands etc are a nightmare to deal with. I recently asked them if we could do a photo shoot with a certain racing driver there and...no reply. I've asked them about the arrangements for the Mini Festival and.... no reply again. Whenever I've put on stuff with the MCR there in the past they've sent tickets out too late , etc etc. Therefore I'm tempted not to bother with a group display (MCR) but will keep trying. At the last resort we could all just meet up on route and park up together (pretty much what happened at Brands by all accounts).

Still no reply from the organiser of this event. Typical MSV I'm afraid, haven't a clue what's happening.

Re: Oulton Park Mini Festival - July 12th
Pete, who actually is the organiser? Is it MSV or an individual? I think it's a case of the individual delegating the marketing to MSV and MSV not really knowing this.....if that makes any sense??Pete wrote:Still no reply from the organiser of this event. Re: Oulton Park Mini Festival - July 12th
Yes it makes sense, the email I have and the one on the official website is an @MSV address, so I presume what little is being organised for the event 'off track' is going through the company. Normally this stuff is organised from the offices at Brands Hatch.

Swifty certainly appears to be in a sweat over both the Festivals and his body language and tone of voice says to me...."I'll be glad when this one's over"

Re: Oulton Park Mini Festival - July 12th
More info :
The Mini Festival heads north to Oulton Park for the first time on Saturday 12 July, building on the popularity of the Mini Festival at Brands Hatch. Minis will take centre stage on and off track with races, parades, a stunt show, trade village and live music.
Away from the track, Minis from the country’s vibrant Mini club scene will be covering every possible inch of the venue, no mean feat for the famously small car. All the Mini owners will get the rare chance to parade their car around the Oulton Park circuit at the day’s conclusion and Mini owners can take advantage of special discounted tickets at just £14, a saving of £8 on raceday admission.*
The UK’s fastest MINI championship, the Power Maxed MINI Challenge, headlines the racing timetable with its packed grids and panel-rubbing racing. Another highlight is the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup; crossing the border to make its Festival debut and bringing more BMW MINI racing to the Festival than ever before.
The Mini Se7en and Miglia championships are both staples of the Mini Festival and that tradition continues in Cheshire as both will be providing their thrillingly-close racing in rapid modified Minis. Two Pre-66 Minis races will be contested by some of the earliest Minis off the production line.
A Trade Village, featuring the world’s premier Mini specialists Mini Sport and leading MINI modification experts Lohen, among others, will offer Mini fans the opportunity to track down parts, spares, memorabilia and official merchandise.
The popular YoungDrive! taster sessions, available for just £30, take place on the rally stage throughout the day. A DSA-approved instructor will teach 11-17-year-old budding motorists the basics of car control around an obstacle course in a safe, controlled environment.
Meanwhile, Russ Swift will take car control to another level with his stunt shows, performing seemingly impossible feats in a MINI One whilst the rally stage will host rally-prepared Minis, showing how this is one of the most iconic rally cars of its time.
With fun for kids, music and more entertainment still to be announced, the Mini Festival looks set to be the perfect day out for Mini fans of all ages.
Eventually I did get an email, got a discount code at last for the MCR stand for people to buy tickets in advance @ £12 per person. Anyone needing this can glean it by PM.

Got my self an entry running with the mini 7 class.
It will be my first time out in the mighty mini so it should be interesting to see how it goes.
Anyone else fancy a run out in the invitation class just PM me and I will give you the details.

I am in with a shout but fighting the mighty waiting-for-my-bits-to-turn-up battle. What with the School Fete next Saturday and a car boot on the following day, my chances are 50/50 at best.uncle 997 wrote:Pete.

Re: Oulton Park Mini Festival - July 12th
I've been requested by MSV that if anyone has a 'Mini Of Special Interest' they'll get free tickets for four and food vouchers if they'd be happy to display their car in a special spot for the day. Needs to be pretty unusual/significant.
Our little display space I've now been told is near the restaurant somewhere, so look out for MCR sail flags.
