Re: Austin '79 Restoration.
Thanks for the update, I'm glad you are still accumulating bits.
I'm afraid I can't recommend anyone in the Northampton area, but I'm sure that someone will soon.

Re: Austin '79 Restoration.
I'm based in Wellingborough and as yet have not found a local source at a sensible price that I am happy with, so tend to make the 45 minute drive to Southam (SMMC). The work has always been excellent. If you find anywhere I would be interested to here about it.Chalkie wrote: Engine spec is gonna be finished soon but need to find where does over bores in Northamptonshire area.

Well only guy Local was Martin of MRA but don't know if he's still doing it or not. But SMMC do a good job so ill properly end up taking it to them when I've got the other bits I want doing to the engine.
Thanks

Re: Austin '79 Restoration.
Hey guys
Small update just collecting parts still
Also you won't believe how hard it is to get a Hs2 carb guide.
Circled in red. I'm missing on and my carb piston has been spinning, damaged the jet and needle think its why i got the twins so cheap. Brought one via SU (Burlen) and its too small so waiting on an email back at the moment. Unless you chaps know thanks

If you are after engine work, It might well be worth talking to Selby race engines in Olney. Has been around for years racing and developing A-series engines.

Re: Austin '79 Restoration.
I have an update!
so I was trawling Ebay a while back after reading Paul S recent project I brought a Bare MPI manifold gave it a quick test fit in a hollow engine in the car.
Clearance? not much
Front Shot
But the biggest part of this so far is Another Paul S purchase from him.
Incase you don't know what this is. Its the m24 Eaton supercharger
SPEC
Model Number: m24
Displacement per revolution, Liters: .393L
Displacement per revolution, Cubic Inches: 24
Sustained RPM: 15,000
weight: 4,8 kg
max. pressure ratio: 2,0 Bar
Max. RPM 17.000 (18.000)
pumps at highest rpm at 1,8 Bar so about 13psi: 380 m³ / h
Now just need to work out what size pulley I will need to get it down to 10psi as ill be running 9:1 comp ratio with intercooler
Thanks
