I just installed new rear shoes, and adjusted until they started to rub then backed off 1/4 turn. The car stops fine but the e-brake does not work as well as it used to. I tried adjusting the 2 adjustment nuts inside the car but they only made it harder to pull up the handle and didn’t improve the braking. Any suggestions?

Re: E-brake adjustment
Also remember to fully slacken the adjusters inside the car before doing adjustments at the wheels.
