My Mk1 Cooper at Angelsey this weekend.

Post by mk1rally »

Now sporting it's rather ugly lightweight bonnet to cover the 7 port and carbs. Still to be painted body colour.

Grill removed to combat a heat issue (to be addressed!!). This then required gaffa tape to stop the bonnet lifting at over 70 (we pulled over 105 through school going off the rev counter and MPH in top maths combined with the rpm/road speed results from the rolling road session last week)

Lovely day and the car performed like a trooper. Note, a little fuel making it's way past the the tank cap seal (another to be addressed!!)

Looked a good day Dave, shame I missed it, had a house full of witches.

We'll have to meet at Oulton one weekend (in fact there's a trackday at Chrizzy if you fancy it, that's if me Hornet's done).

Hello Steve,

Yes, never raced or rallied!! (I think you've seen it doing both!!)

I was going to pick a bone with you, the paints looking a little shabby now and it was only painted around 25 years ago...how would you feel about a warranty claim?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and when you hear the twin 40's roar, it looks beautiful!!
At idle however, it' s not so pretty!!

So Oulton on the 18th Dec?? I may have convince Mike to dust off ONB 121H.
