Group 5 weight

Post by Astro »

Good morning,

the homologation form 5028 claims a minimal weight of 651kg. A group 5 car may have 3% tolerance, therefore may weight 632kg. But there is another homologation form nr. 1300 from 1965. This one claims 620kg. Will this be applicable for a period G1 group 5 car from 1969?

Best regards

Going back to the days when I was racing to International Group 5 regs, I remember the weight limit as 620 kilos.

I also remember carrying a dirty great flywheel off a truck, bolted to the floorboard to get the car within the weight limit ;)

I never was a very keen supporter of weight limits.
