Re: MK1 Action Day

Post by Longbridge 1 »

Just wanted to to add my thanks as well to Mark and Pete for all the time and effort and hard work in to putting on a cracking event and to all who was
involved, it was a brilliant day and a big nostalgia trip for me and my brother who now wants to get another mini van as he was very impressed by the way they were being driven on the circuit and for me to get a nice mark one mini with some period mods

Many Thanks

Steve

I know this is only a suggestion, but it would be great if every car on the track had an adhesive number (kind of like a race number, or something) that correlated to a list of the track entrants, so at least we could identify the spec on the car ????

With a few tweaks here and there, we pretty much have decided to do just that, albeit a two dayer with one circuit on Saturday and the other circuit on the Sunday. In fact we've already booked it. :D

I did think of that this time but didn't carry it through, I think that's a good idea, we can see who's who really easily then which will come in handy when they drop their sump all over the track.

I think a burger van would be a good move for next time also as the kitchen struggled to cope (with Mick).
He was so terrified he nearly dropped his wallet!

Doesn't he bring his wallet in a separate trailer ??

He cheered up later on though when a fella that had been trying to track him down (no he didn't owe him money this time  ) introduced himself and explained how he once owned AJB 66B, 2nd owner after Abingdon! Cool eh ? 8-)
He was beaming from ear to ear , the gentleman in question gave Bernie a stunning photo of his car showing it with things he never knew had been fitted to it......

Same bank holiday. ;)

Anyone see that black Mk1 rally car 'barn find' belonging to Neil of Mini Division on the trailer, that should have won 'dash of the day'. He's looking for history on the car, spent alot of time on the Wirral.

As Pete has said above.

We have already re booked Blyton for 2 days over the same bank holiday in 2015. There will be a few minor tweeks here & there to make the weekend even better, a little more organisation, but not too much, a different circuit each day, hopefully more food outlets so Mo doesn't work herself to an early grave, we have hopefully booked a very good speaker for Saturday night. It will also be held on the same free / charitable donation basis as this year, we have not however decided on next years charity yet. So you could things are moving on apace.

Lots more info as it comes in.

Thanks again for making the 1st Action day such a success, lets make the 2nd one even better.

Ditto, I think there will be one hell of a scramble for tickets. :?

Already looking forward to it, wouldn't want to miss it in 2015. Two track configurations sounds a great idea.

You don't need to Sean, there are plenty of cars that you can have a go in. The MiniSprint & the Speedwell car for sure & I may have something else too by then. And I am sure Rich will be happy for you to give whatever he brings a blast.
