my brother tried this with warrick banks in the rain at brands hatch once and had the mother of all spins, we saw both cars disappear into the spray, warrick came out the other end on the track and my brother appeared at high speed on the grass  - after the race warick simpley said 'touring car champion son....'

Warwick will be at Blyton next weekend so if anyone feels brave they might be able to emulate the Great Don Hawcroft ;-)

Don't mention the R word I'm going to get wet enough at Wiscombe this weekend

Perhaps the best thing to do is get Warick / Whizzo ect in the passenger seat and let them tell us everything we are doing wrong

On a serious note I'm sure Whizz would be happy do that and is qualified to in more ways than one!

I'm up for a trip in the passenger seat while he drives. I Fancy a good scare! (I've survived a De Cadenet test drive, so I'm sure it'll be fine!)

IMPORTANT UPDATE :

Food will be served in the dining hall from 5.30pm on Saturday. The dining room will close by 7.00 sharp, so don't be too late or you may miss out.

Food choices on the night will be Chicken Curry, Lasagna or Quiche. The choices will diminish as they 'sell out'.

Therefore diners please aim to arrive at Blyton from 4pm onward (slightly earlier than previously advised).

Thanks.

BBC weather forecast is for colder temperatures during this week, recovering by next weekend with dry weather across the weekend. Highs of 17 degrees on Sunday :) (but nearly bloody freezin overnight! Pack those thermals you campers!).

Which probably means it'll bleedin p*ss down.

Anyone received an email from Javelin yet?

Cheers.

I'm not one for cutting it fine but the car is having its suspension set up this week so I feel a bit more confident with it... I feel like it trys to throw me in a ditch when I overtake any other cars on the road.

Looking forward to Sunday, not looking forward to the amount of fuel the tow car will use on the way!

Anyone else heading across on the Sunday morning from Manchester way?

Hi Russ, I got mine at 7pm tonight so I would imagine others will get theirs/you will get yours tomorrow morning. Signing on is from 7.45 , driver's briefing is at 9.00 so I'm not sure whether you want to/are allowed to skip that. Following that at 9.30 are practice lap sessions for drivers to familiarise themselves with the track, conditions and marshal positions. Open pit time starts at 9.50.
Lunch halt is from 12.30 to 1.30 and track time finishes at 17.00

Venue opens at 7.30 , so that's our lie in down the pan. The smell of sizzling bacon is hard to sleep through anyway.

Sure Tom, you bring the HP. :)

Just a quick word about arrival time for those going on Saturday, we have suggested arriving after 4pm (and before 5.30 ideally if you're dining) but try not to to get there too much earlier than that as after checking the Javelin website their trackday on the Saturday looks to be filling up (probably due to the decent weather forecast) so please be aware there will be a paddock full of cars if you get there early. I'd suggest 4pm or shortly after would be about right for anyone staying overnight wishing to pitch up before the evening meal.

We may have to be slightly flexible on the start time for the talk as several of our guests are travelling along way. Hope that's OK, gives us more time to yak over a beer anyway ! :D
