Battery cable

Post by monkeyjim »

Hi ,

Could I have recommendation of a descent supplier of battery cable and correct cable sizing please .
Using a standard Mini starter , however I cannot use the "off the shelf" length cables available as my starter button will not be in the original position . Obviously loads on ebay , not sure on the cable sizing. Will give Autosparks a call Monday , any other company suggestions would be appreciated .

David .

If originality isn't a problem try welding cable (earth). It's far superior to standard battery cable, multi stranded, very flexible and can be cut to length as to your requirements.
I was recommended to use 16mm squared.
I'll try and dig out the invoice to confirm.

I would recommend 25sq,better able to cope with voltage drop when cranking over and not much bigger to look at.
