Putney? was this the shop on Putney bridge road? I lived in Putney from 64 till 84 there were a few good places back then for mini guys anybody remember Andy Judge?

If memory serves there was two shops, not at the same time and I,m sure one was Lower Richmond road and the other in Putney but I don't think Putney Bridge Road. I used to pop in most weeks to see what little gems Tim had turned up, I miss it

I agree.....Lower Richmond Road, Putney SW15 but I can't remember the number....

Thankyou for all your kind comments. I have to say though that if there was a prize for the most inefficient Mini shop in the early 1990's I would have won the prize outright by now as being keen on something does'nt guarantee a clever business sense. However I have had some good help over the years (particularly at present as my racing toy has just spat a diff gasket out). I can remember pissing off MAB at one stage due to non delivery of a mail order item, so I can assume that you have either forgotten Martin , or are being kind

I have been fortunate to meet plenty of lovely folk over the years. I can well remember from when I was in Putney , we had two brothers who worked at the dance studio in Putney and lived down the road. They never had any real money to spend so I tried to help where I could and I can remember scrapping a Metro Mayfair which had delightful (!) light blue velour seats with split rear seat that I more or less gave to them as I felt sorry for them. They did a lovely job of getting the rear seat sorted to fit and although the car was always slightly sad due to lack of funds it was full of enthusiastic effort.

Later they came good in another area. Names : Richard and Fred Fairbrass. Right said Fred!

Recently I seem to have come across a couple of old timers who have close Mini racing history and aren't known to many folk at all as the early pre Mini7 club racing at club level does'nt seem to be well documented. I can remember going to club races at Brands in the mid sixties and getting bored at the sheer quantities of them and turned to Escorts and such. I shan't spill the beans in order to get two more people to buy Mini Mag, but will try to elaborate at some stage in the future as and when by which time I may be able to get them to divulge a bit more .

I remember.....(chasing up Tim for delivery of that particular order of parts was on my 'things to do' list for quite a while), but then you probably had far more fun things to do on your racers at the time!

It would be good to get more of the Mini 7 club racing history documented while some of the 'old timers' are still around to ask......there must also be some great old photographs and cine film tucked away in private hands that would be worth sharing to a wider audience.
I know an ex-free formula Mini racer who has most of the late Chris Tyrrells Mini 7 trophy collection tucked away in his loft but he is not sure what to do with them all........
