To see the Blaydon Races........?!
yeh, I gather the road is quite well known but to me it's just the way to/from town and painful one at that particularly if I'm on my bike and the wind is blowing in the wrong F direction
I lived near Gateshead in the 90s and get back now and then to see friends.
Steve, the Sheffield Ogle belongs to Paul Ogle in fact. Paul was a student here in the late 80's and running some std Mini when he came to the shop for some service items. When I looked at his cheque and saw his surname I told him about Ogle cars. I then showed him some photos in books. Many years later and with a bit of money to spend he went out and bought the Fletcher Ogle you saw. He has since done loads of research on Ogles and has enough info to write a book. I have offered to buy a copy if he ever does it.
I meet lots of people who tell me they "own a Mini". I get all excited and then usually find they mean one of those rather large modern cars
I don't even see many late "Rover" Minis running about regularly now.
Still, we are doing our best as a family. to keep our classic cars on the road and here is my daughter off to work in our Mk1 with a big smile on her face

Spotted a lovely Elf / Hornet in Wetherby today. B reg in dark grey with a hint of brown with a lighter grey roof. Looked immaculate, drove back round to get a pic but it had gone, unfortunately.
