Definitely going to this as I've not been before, alas it won't be in the Mini as the rad has just sprung a leak, still looking forward to it though.

Re: Brooklands Mini Day Saturday 22nd March
Here is a picture of me and my mates mk 1 minis at sunny Brooklands yesterday.
The cherry red car is a supercharged '59 and belongs to journalist John Simister. It was a bit tricky to keep up with on the way there. Its outrageously fast.
The smoke grey car was recently acquired by Richard Bremner, another journo. Its a one owner '63, and at 26,000 documented miles, it almost needed running in.
The surf blue is a period modded 970S owned by car nut Robert Lancaster-Gaye and like my almond green 970S next to it, was restored by maestro Fred Walters of Nippy cars.
The 80 mile run there and back was absolutely brilliant, with us managing to keep in convoy most of the time.

Sounded like a fun day out in the Minis Bryan, I noticed John's '59 for sale on Car & Classic , doubt it'll be for sale for long !

The Supercharged '59 seems quite cheap considering what's been spent on it over the years and the price other interesting early Minis are going for.

John & his Supercharged 59 were booked in for Blyton, but unfortunately he has had to part with his car.
Really sad, but a great opportunity for someone else to enjoy what is now a well sorted little car.

Re: Brooklands Mini Day Saturday 22nd March
Lovely pics, and I love the sepia and b&w. I am sad to be selling my supercharged '59 and seeing the pic makes me more so. Tomorrow I'm visiting Alan and Lloyd Allard in Gloucester, and I shall go in the Mini so I can show them the Shorrock which Alan may well have sold to the owner of whatever Mini it was originally fitted to. They're probably expecting me to turn up in something modern so it should be quite interesting.

Professional quality pictures Stu. They are really excellent. Do you do them black and white to limit surf blue retina damage?
Re: Brooklands Mini Day Saturday 22nd March
Bryan
Old Minis always look good in black and white no matter what the colour.
Thanks
