Anyone remember this car?
I remember seeing this 'S' at Stanford Hall a few years ago. Gorgeous car with lovely patina but a super scary price!!

Re: Anyone remember this car?
That is easily one of the most beautiful examples I have ever seen of a Cooper S...

What it's strange is that it claims to be 1964 Monte Carlo N° 189 car... Pauline Mayman 's works Mini. The one destroyed by fire. (the chassis number is also very close to 33 EJB)

277 EBL for Mayman's Monte Mini. By the ways the reg 0RX 54 was for sale some years ago at the end of the MCR's mag.

Re: Anyone remember this car?
As I remember the 'story' to that car was that it was built from the remnants of 277 EBL which was heavily crashed and totally burned out on the '64 Monte as you suggest, utilising all the salvagable interior, equipment etc. You can make up your own minds about the likelyhood of that :Pluto wrote:What it's strange is that it claims to be 1964 Monte Carlo N° 189 car... The car is for sale here and in the description is described as formerly being registered as 18 KOK. That's VERY close the reg of the car I eluded to earlier from up here that looked VERY similar in 2006.

Re: Anyone remember this car?
I dont think that the ORX 54 which i saw at Stanford Hall years ago was as detailed as this car. It looks to be a fantastic example and would be a great feature car with a cracking story if the interior etc did come from 277 EBL!!

Re: Anyone remember this car?
The door padding looks to be well scorched! But still a nice detailed car
