I spotted it too and thought that although he says it is the original shell, I couldn't see much sign of "Almond Green" anywhere and the boot board mounts on the rear bulkhead rather look as if they've been transfered? Somebody's fitted the wrong/late scuttle panel :( . Wrong engine too of course and seats, brightwork etc not all there so it's a big project. As you say Pete, there aren't many cheap ones about now!

Wildgoose.

The slowest, worse handling Mini variant of all time

As you say though Pete, a great project for someone who doesn't want to travel too far.

The longest trip I took in mine was about 320 miles to a car show. Got lots of attention and a lot of laughs. Until the rains started pouring down. Just went in back and made a cuppa while all the waxers and polishers were having a fit...and getting very wet.
The VEB version weighed about 45% more than the Mini Van it was based on. Still with an 848 and dual leading shoe drum brakes.
On the trip back from the car show on a 60mph road, I covered the 160 miles at 50mph for most of the run. Hit 60mph on one down hill section. Didn't pass another vehicle the entire time.

Chuck,

I can remember you telling me about your Wildgoose when it got a bit of a sway on one time, very funny.

Still, as I say a very interesting project for someone.

Actually, I wouldn't want to be driving one. At all. Whatever the weather.

Rare project! 8-)

BMW have this Wildgoose in their Mini collection usually on show at the Oxford MINI Plant, I have also seen it at the Goodwood Revival.
