8 port injection
Hello,
the 8-port Group 5 from 68, 69 with Tecalemit or Lucas injection are well known. But did they ever use a Kugelfischer one?

Re: 8 port injection
when doing historic Motorsport you have to prove that these things still existed in the period.

Re: 8 port injection
That's a bottomless pit of a quest though because if you can prove 8 port existed alongside that injection set up before a particular cut off date then there's no reason you should have to prove anyone actually used it, it was all free in Gp5 anyway ?Astro wrote: when doing historic Motorsport you have to prove that these things still existed in the period.

It's FIA. They want to see that this configuration once was used, that a Mini was running with this injection a FIA competition in period. I know... still have a problem to get the permission to run a Safety Device Cage for the door bars are not homologated.

Re: 8 port injection
Astro. I have a Kugelfischer injection pump. I was considering using it recently, but have resurected the old TJ as it is less complicated. I may try it some time.
The Kugelfischer was used extensively in the 70s, firstly in the BMW2002TIIs but in Italy everyone racing in the 70s used the Kugelfischer on anything from a FIAT 127 to an Osella.
Almost all the historic cars racing in Italy use it these days. A good pump has become a bit like hens teeth

Hello,
are there any photos or documents to prove that this happened in 1970? In Germany its not too difficult to get Kugelfischer stuff for it is still used by the NSU.

The BMW 2002 TII of the 70s had Kugelfischer injection as standard factory equipment.

Yes, I still know. But what the FIA wants to have proven is, if in 1970 (period G2) a Kugelfischer equipped mini did international competition. Otherwise we should continue with the Webers.

Re: 8 port injection
An old thread but I too have been trying to find out the same thing. For a few years now I've been thinking this is such a good option someone must have done it. I'm dying to give it a try!Astro wrote:Hello,

It seems that Konrad Beckmann of Hannover used a KF on an arden 8 port in period. Possibly group 2? - in something called the shell cup among others. Also looks like it went between an external hinged yellow car and a Red 1275GT. You can see both cars in one of the pics.
I would love to know more information or see more pictures if anyone has any? and of any other kugelfischer mini for that matter.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: 8 port injection
Wow. First time I've seen a Mini on Kuglefischer. I'm currently building my 999 8 Port with a 2002tii pump, Mercedes injection nozzles and TJ throttle bodies (once I've found some). The pump will be located in a similar position to the original TJ pump. The pump will be "mapped" and a new internal cone made to suit the fuel requirements of an engine half the size and reving nearly twice as much. As the car will be raced, I'm hoping it'll be a little more reliable and less troublesome than the TJ.

Re: 8 port injection
The 1275 GT photos are of little use as the Arden head is not homologated on the GT. (Weslake only)
