the car had totally had it ,,,,and i mean bad bad !!!!!!
apart from the roof and the boot lid which was weld repaired,,almost every panel is a "pattern panel". the body was rebuilt on a budget and "already in the loft" pattern panels were used in its 2nd lease of life.
the car was involved in a smash- front and rear at some point in its life,then re panelled and has been a nightmare to straighten out .
even the b pillars had rotted out,,,never seen this on a mk1 mini before!.the only genuine panels fitted
the car had has follows
2x front wings
front panel
2x inner and outer a panels
o/s inner wing
o/s bulkhead side
o/s toe board
n/s inner wing and rad cowl (second hand)
front subframe
both front floor pans
half a seat x member
both rear floor pans
repairs to the rear tubs
repairs to the rear seat pan
repairs to the subframe mounting areas
both inner sill box sections
both outer sills
both inner sills
boot floor
n/s rear arch tub
o/s rear arch tub repaired
rear valance
boot hinge repair panel with extension
and breathe...
2 door skins
2 upper door repair panels
2 lower door repair panels
2x door step
1x n/s rear quarter panel
o/s rear quarter repaired with a repair section
repair section under rear window
new roof skin
rebuilt mg 1100 engine on a 4 synchro austin 1300 gt box (3.6 diff) converted to magic wand
powder blue interior with silver brocade.as original with addition of .newton commercial "s" recliners
maniflow 3 branch on single box rc40
minifin drums,.uprated bushes,heavy duty tie bars
g max shockers, 997 cooper 5 digit speedo
boot fitted reversing light
refurbished rear suspension and braking system
the "s"rims are going to the blasters for powder coating so sits on minilites at present as an interim..
its getting there,,

luckily the refurbed suspension has now dropped to a respectable ride height after 20 mths or so

Really nice - I'd settle for that standard on my car!
How do you get on with the RC40 and manifold and the floor start button? Is there enough clearance? I remember having problems with the standard peashooter last time my '61 was on the road in the early 90's. The later ones didn't have a bend in them to avoid the starter terminals and it frequently shorted out..

The Supers are key started so no problems with RC40 clearing the solenoid. It is a pain with the floor start though. Very nice car.gs.davies wrote:Really nice - I'd settle for that standard on my car!

our town aint the place to drive this little bullet though
needs the derbyshire hills to open up the bhp!
its blocked in with 9 other cars in front of it at mo sadly
yer,,no floor start as its a super
its running a maniflow and a single box rc40..i cut the small centre box out as it made it too quiet...
